From all four corners of the globe we, a group of overseas Vietnamese, have come to this beautiful island, spent a part of our life here and called Singapore our adopted home, at least for a while.

Being professionals in our own fields in technology, banking, finance, management, education, economics, business, etc... each of us has, for one reason or another, left our home in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, France, Australia and Vietnam,etc... to settle in Singapore. Our stay in this tropical island ranges from a few months to a few years. Some of us are still here, some have left and some have returned for a second time. In all respects we were once strangers in many ways, yet it was the common bond, being the Vietnamese who have been living in Singapore, that have bound us together and made us friends.

We met, we got to know each other's name, we enjoyed getting together, we joked, we laughed on the tennis courts, we sweated on the golf courses and driving ranges, we taught Vietnamese to our kids at Van Lang school on Sundays, we went wind-surfing or scuba diving, we barbequeued, played guitar and sang together on the beach of east coast, we took Chinese lessons, ballroom dancing classes, tai chi classes, we played mahjong, we sang karaoke, we went shopping, eating chicken rice or durian at hawker centres, drinking at the clubs, we attended welcoming parties and farewell parties ... and one fine day, it would be our turn to say goodbye to our friends, pack up and and leave Singapore for another assignment in another yet-to-know destination ! Well, after all isn't that the life of a "modern nomad" ?

Years from now, when we find ourseleves sitting comfortably in a rocking chair, with plenty of time to think of those young and restless days, Singapore might be just another place, like any other place we have worked, lived or stopped-over in our life-long journey. Well, knowing it, and until that day comes, let's make our stay in Singapore really memorable; in other words, let's make it full of beautiful souvenirs and fond memories, for us and for our loved ones !

The Vietnamese community in Singapore has been a very unique group and we hope that it would remain that way for a long time to come. Here we have no formal association, no president, no chairman, no leader and no followers... Those who want to come, please feel free to show yourselves and be counted among friends. Those who want to be left alone, just relax and make yourself ...invisible ! There is no discrimination or distinction on the grounds of sex, religion or political belief. We don't waste our time trying to impress, convert or convince anyone about anything, as among ourselves we are all equal, while deep down, we know that as Vietnamese, we are ... the BEST ! ( Shhh ! Please keep it a secret and don't let anyone know !!!)
